A press conference has been held in Donostia-San Sebastián today to announce the recent agreement signed by UPV/EHU Summer Courses Foundation (UIK) with the Basque Government’s Ministry of Science, Universities & Innovation and its Ministry of Education, as well as to unveil the special programmes to be run thanks to this agreement.
During the event, held at the Miramar Palace, specific programmes for the education community were announced, such as Learning to Teach and Ikasiz Hezi, as well as the continuation of the Ricardo Echepare lecture series, which will feature a new talk by artificial intelligence and data science expert José Antonio Lozano.
Conceived as open spaces for reflection and knowledge, this year’s Summer Courses will offer 152 courses and 14 workshops in over 15 towns. The programme will address a wide range of topics — from science and technology to art, education and sustainability — with the goal of fostering a critical and well-informed citizenry.
Enrolment for the Summer Courses is already open and will remain available throughout the summer. Most activities will take place between July and September in Donostia, Bilbao, Vitoria-Gasteiz, Baiona and other towns across the region. Full information and registration are available on the UIK website.
